 2017 Preview 


       J.U. Blacksher completed the 2016 season with a 5-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 2A region one, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. J.U. Blacksher's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to G.W. Long by a score of 54-21.

       Since 2010, J.U. Blacksher has gone a combined 24-49. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 2A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, J.U. Blacksher has managed to compile a record of 98-174. Their 36.0% winning percentage ranks 43rd in Class 2A and 307th in the AHSAA.

       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Wesley Sims who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 24-49 over the past seven seasons at J.U. Blacksher. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won one region crown with Coach Sims.

       Coach Sims' overall record as a head football coach in seven season stands at 24-49 (32.9%).

       The J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs will play in Class 2A region one during the 2017 season.

       The Bulldogs will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region one this season.

       The Bulldogs open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Northview FL on Friday, August 25.

       This will be the second meeting between J.U. Blacksher and Northview FL on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 0-1-0 record against Northview FL. They last met in 2016 with Northview FL winning by a score of 35-6.
